Driving skills training at SBV - Safe and confident on the road

As an instructor with the Foundation for the Promotion of Traffic Education (SBV), I'm committed to improving road safety by offering driving skills training for road users of all ages. SBV aims to enhance road safety through education and training, in collaboration with municipalities, provinces, and other socially engaged organizations.

Our Driving Skills Training

Whether you're a novice driver or have held your license for years, SBV offers driving skills training that will help you participate safely and confidently in traffic. We offer training for various target groups:

  • Young drivers up to 27 years old (Tracks) : We offer Tracks training specifically for novice drivers. Here you'll learn more about safe driving behavior, dealing with distractions, and hazard recognition.

  • Adults with driving experience : We also offer refresher courses for experienced drivers. These courses focus on improving your traffic knowledge and driving skills. Traffic is constantly changing, and a refresher course will keep you up-to-date!

Content of the Trainings

The driving skills training consists of both theory and practice. The following topics are covered:

  • Refresh theory : Knowledge of traffic rules and current traffic situations.
  • Practical drive with driving instructor : Drive in your own car, together with an instructor, and receive personal tips and advice.
  • Hazard Recognition and Perception : Learn to recognize hazards more quickly and respond effectively.
  • Optional Workshops : Such as sensory testing, hazard recognition and workshops on topics such as alcohol, medication and road safety.

The cost of participating in the driving skills training depends on the municipality you live in. Thanks to municipal subsidies, the personal contribution is often low, sometimes as little as €15. The training courses are usually municipality-specific, meaning they are only accessible to residents of that municipality.

For the Tracks training for young people up to 27 years old, a personal contribution may apply, but with a certificate you get a discount on your car insurance with Univé!
