Tracks

The driving skills training for young people up to 27! Present your certificate and receive a two-step discount on your Univé car insurance!

Recently got your driver's license and bought your first car? You've already driven your first kilometers, but there are many more to come! We hope you'll enjoy many safe kilometers together. Are you even aware of the risks in traffic, whether they're caused by you or other road users? And if danger arises, do you know how to make an emergency stop? And what's it like to navigate traffic as a truck driver? You'll learn all this and more during our driving skills training specifically for young people: Tracks. A nice bonus: if you participate in this training, you'll receive a two-tier discount on your car insurance at Univé upon presentation of your certificate!

Content of the training

The Tracks training consists of two half-day workshops and runs from 8:45 AM to 4:00 PM. You must participate in the training by car. The training takes place at the VEC in Drachten and includes the following components:

  • Driving a truck
  • Distraction in traffic
  • Driving style scan with driving instructor
  • Anti-slip exercises on a skid track
  • Theory and discussion (repetition, substance use, peer pressure, etc.)
Costs and participation

The cost of the training depends on your province of residence. In the three northern provinces (Drenthe, Groningen, and Friesland), subsidies are provided by the provinces, as long as they are available, so the costs for you as a participant are limited to a personal contribution of €49.50. If you live outside these provinces, you are also welcome to attend this training. In that case, the personal contribution is €199. The training day includes lunch and coffee/tea.

Participation in the training requires your own car. This is a good way to experience exactly how it behaves in emergency situations. It is not possible to use or rent a car through the SBV.
